Abstract: This observational study explores the prevalence and perceived impacts of Adobet88, an online gambling platform, within Jakarta, Indonesia. Data collection involved unobtrusive observation of internet cafes and public spaces, along with brief, informal interviews to gauge user demographics, motivations, and awareness of potential risks. The study highlights the accessibility, perceived entertainment value, and the socio-economic context that contributes to Adobet88’s popularity, while acknowledging the limited scope of this preliminary investigation.

Introduction: Online gambling platforms like Adobet88 have gained traction in Indonesia, a country with complex legal regulations surrounding gambling. While formal gambling establishments are largely prohibited, the accessibility of online platforms, often operating in a grey area, presents a significant challenge. This study aims to provide an initial understanding of Adobet88 usage in Jakarta, focusing on observable behaviors and user perceptions.

Methodology: The research employed a qualitative, observational approach.
